How we handle your files
Your files never leave your device.
Every PDFtoOne tool runs inside your own browser. When you add a file, it is read and processed by your device. It is never uploaded to our servers, so we cannot see, store or share it. You can test this yourself: open a tool, turn on airplane mode, and it still works.
What is kept on your device, and how to clear it
| What | Where it stays | How to remove it |
|---|---|---|
| The file you add | Your device's memory (RAM), only while the tab is open | Close the tab. It is gone. |
| The finished file | Your Downloads folder, only when you tap Download | Delete it like any download. |
| Passing a file to the next tool | Browser storage on your device (IndexedDB), deleted when the next tool opens it, and after 30 minutes at most | Automatic, or "Clear my data" below. |
| Tool code and AI models (background remover, face finder, text reader, upscaler) | Browser cache on your device, so tools open fast and work offline | "Clear my data" below, or clear site data in your browser settings. |
| Your language choice | Browser storage (localStorage) on your device | "Clear my data" below. |
What we never do
- We never upload, read, keep or sell your files.
- We never see the passwords you type into Protect PDF or Unlock PDF.
- We do not ask you to log in, and we do not build a profile of you.
Website visits
Like every website, our hosting provider (Cloudflare) handles basic connection data, such as your IP address, to deliver pages and block attacks. We may use privacy-friendly, cookie-free visit counts (Cloudflare Web Analytics) to learn which tools are popular. These never include your files.
Advertising
PDFtoOne is free because it shows ads. Ad partners such as Google may use cookies to show and measure ads, as described in their own policies; where the law requires it, we ask for your consent first. Ads never have access to your files.
Your rights
Because we don't collect your files or an account, there is usually nothing about you for us to delete. For any privacy question, including under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, the GDPR or US state laws, write to hello@pdftoone.com.
